Textues and hidden space

There are areas where the sky is part of the story yet as you move through the space, the light becomes more subdued and the tones of the trees, kunzia and secret undergrowth dominate. There are dark secret crevices in old man gumtrees and sweet smelling Scent Bark gums where you can almost see a long-clawed sleepy-eyed bunyip reaching around a tree trunk to peer at you or you catch the flitting of a fairy.

The bark on the impressively sized trees is full of texture and whispers of ancient times and the temptation to gently lay your fingers on these broken, rough and fractured surfaces is irresistible. The impression of gnarled age that is centuries old is difficult to deny. Through touch there is a connection to these trees that lays you bare to the thrill of meeting an ancient being that thinks deep deliberations about the world.

The ground Is littered with wonderfully marked leaves. They beg to be noticed as they carpet the paths and lay full under the trees. I so want to gather them and hoard them away from prying eyes just so that I can secretly drool over them... leaves are one of my weaknesses. I am told the leaves are marked by fungus interactions which gradually return them to the soil. The leaves for me are a marker of time, a maker of recycled matter and are made to generate growth both in life and death.
